Mezzanine

The mezzanine floor of our main museum building offers a charming and versatile space for private functions, accommodating up to 65 guests. Whether you're planning a meeting, art show, or party, our mezzanine provides a unique and scenic setting!

Information:

  • Insurance Coverage: Included in rental fees for events without alcohol or live music.

  • Setup and Cleanup: We encourage clients to handle their own setup and cleanup. Should you require staff assistance for these tasks, additional fees will apply. A $150 refundable damage deposit is required.

  • Furniture: A limited number of tables and chairs are available for use at no extra charge.

  • Equipment: The space is equipped with a TV monitor/screen that can be connected to a computer for presentations, DVDs, PowerPoint, or Internet use. A small kitchen with a fridge, kettle, stove, coffee maker, microwave, single keg tap, and a select amount of dishes/cutlery is available; however, it is not recommended for catering large events.

  • Liquor Service: renters are required to apply for and provide staff with a liquor permit if there is alcohol on the premise during your event. it is expected that all renters adhere to BC liquor service rules

Rental Rates:

In-Hours
May-June: Monday-Sunday daily rentals from 10am-4pm
July-August: Saturday and Sunday daily rentals from 10am-4pm
September-April: Wednesday-Sunday daily rentals from 10am-4pm
No minimum booking time

  • Active Member: $10/hr

  • NPO: $15/ hr

  • Noncommercial: $20/hr

  •  Commercial: $25/hr

Outside Hours

May-August: Monday-Sunday daily rentals from 4pm-10pm
September-April: Wednesday-Sunday daily rental rates from 4pm-10pm
Minimum booking time of two hours. Staff will be onsite outside of regular hours.

  • Active Member: $45/hr

  • NPO: $50/ hr

  • Noncommercial: $55/hr

  • Commercial: $60/hr

*Special accommodations for booking dates/times can be made for events. Please inquire to discuss your event. Subject to staff availability.

Patio Portal

The Patio Portal is a delightful new addition to the Cowichan Bay Maritime Centre, offering a picturesque setting with stunning views of the bay. This outdoor area is equipped with tables, benches, and chairs, as well as a children’s interactive tug for playful adventures.

Rental Rates:

  • Half-Day (Up to 4 hours): $260

  • Full-Day (Up to 8 Hours): $400

    Rates after 8 hours will be charged at $50/hr

The Patio Portal is perfect for casual gatherings and provides a relaxing atmosphere with beautiful bay views.
