The Maritime Centre is host to many different children’s events and activities, including our popular ‘Len Mayea Boatbuilding Booth’, Junior Captain Camps, Field Trips and more! No matter the time of year their is always fun to be had at the Maritime Centre.
The Mission of the Cowichan Wooden Boat Society is to preserve for present and future generations the Maritime Heritage and Culture of Wooden Boats and canoes. By introducing Nautical Skills to the next generation of budding boat builders, sea farers, woodworkers, fishermen and mariners we are passing on a love and appreciation of Maritime heritage and culture and keeping alive the Culture of Wooden Boats and Maritime Heritage!

SUMMER 2024 CAMP Registration is open!
Each week will include at least one boat ride/rowing session, crabbing, beach adventures, nautical skills like knot tying and woodworking and fun games, crafts, scavenger hunts and more July 1-5 July 15-19 July 29th- August 2nd August 5th – 9th August 12th-16th August 19th-23rd
Camps are $250/weekly and run from 9am-4pm Monday-Friday. At this point we are only taking full week registration (no drop-in single days)
