Call for Artist looking to sell their wares in our Nautical Gift Shop
We are excited to be opening up a call for artists who would like to have their products sold in our eclectic small gift shop. Our small and vibrant shop Showcases a variety of local artists, makers and artisans and is well loved by tourists and locals alike.
The Cowichan Bay Maritime Centre offers a unique space to sell your artwork with the museum attracting tourists year round who are looking for souvenirs of their travels as well as being a hub for the local community. Your wares would be displayed in a prominent location in The Cowichan Bay Village, The gift shop is surrounded in large windows that are visible from the street and draw in many passerby’s.
We work with artists on a consignment basis with quarterly pay-outs based on sales. We do a 60/40 split (60% for artists and 40% going towards supporting the Cowichan Bay Maritime Centre)
We are specifically looking for artists who’s work reflect the mission of the Cowichan Wooden Boat Society which is ‘To preserve for present the Maritime Heritage and Culture of Wooden Boats and canoes for future generations." Art that is inspired by Nautical/Maritime/Ocean related themes will be prioritized.
We are hopeful we can connect with a few more local artists and artisans to enhance our gift shops offerings and support the many talented makers in the Cowichan Valley!
