We’re excited to invite local artists and makers to join our eclectic and well-loved gift shop at the Cowichan Bay Maritime Centre!
Our small but vibrant shop features a curated selection of locally made art, gifts, and handcrafted goods. The shop is well loved by both tourists and locals. We are located in the heart of The Cow Bay Village. Our gift shop enjoys high visibility, with large street-facing windows that draw in passersby year-round.
What we offer;
Vendor Consignment Agreement: We work on a 60/40 consignment basis — 60% to the artist, and 40% supporting the Cowichan Bay Maritime Centre. Our staff track your sales and we do a quarterly pay-out based on sales. Artists are encouraged to frequently visit, restock and curate their displays based on the season.
Year-Round Exposure: The museum attracts a steady stream of visitors, making it a great venue to showcase and sell your work. We have high tourist traffic through the summers and in the off season a steady stream of shoppers. We host a multitude of events such as Ladies’ Shopping Night, Christmas Events and more.
Community-Focused: We are committed to showcasing the talents of our community and supporting local artists.
We’re especially seeking artists and artisans whose work aligns with the mission of the Cowichan Wooden Boat Society: “To preserve for the present the maritime heritage and culture of wooden boats and canoes for future generations.” Priority will be given to artwork inspired by nautical, maritime, or ocean-related themes — but we welcome all artists who feel a connection to our mission to send in an expression of interest!
