RESTORATION:  WORKSHOP FACILITY

The use of the workshop is restricted to members only.

It is open for use most days from 9-5.

Members are encouraged to call ahead to confirm there is room available to work on your project.

Members are billed once a month for the use of their shop time based on $4.00 per hour to a maximum of $20.00 per day or for larger projects left on site $7.50 a foot per month.

MATERIALS = Cost +15%
EQUIPMENT DAMAGE = cost of replacement / repair if member negligent

The following guidelines have been set up for use of the shop.

1. I am a member of the C.W.B.S.
2. I will sign in and out and log my time accordingly to ensure proper billing of shop fees.
3. I understand that there are restrictions on the use of the Cowichan Bay Maritime Centre and its equipment and will obtain permission from the shipwright/director prior to working at the Centre or using any tools INCLUDING SHOP FEES.
4. I acknowledge that there are special risks of bodily injury from the equipment and tools which are unique to this work environment.
5. I understand that I am not covered under Workers’ Compensation and that I hereby agree to release and save harmless the Society, its employees, members or directors for any loss or damage through personal injury or otherwise and claims arising from any accident or sickness which I may suffer while participating in the said work.
6. I agree to abide by all rules governing the conduct of the Maritime Centre and the direction or instruction given me by the shipwright/director. I will clean up my space daily.
7. I will use the appropriate safety equipment when using all tools.
