The Cowichan Bay Maritime Centre offers fun for all ages.

Our most popular activity for children is the wooden boat building booth located in the second pod along our pier. Wood, string, nails, and hammers are provided. This is a free activity. Adult supervision is required.

During your visit children are welcome to pick up a scavenger hunt from our Main Building. Completing this activity takes children past all of the exhibits in our main building, pods and pavilion and introduces them to a variety of historical topics and traditional boat building techniques.

Obtaining a family membership also gives full access to our fleet of small rowing and sailing dinghies. With a family membership children can go out in a rowboat with their parents or grandparents and garner an appreciation for being out on the water.

Simple boat building kits are available for purchase from our workshop. Families are encouraged to purchase a kit and use our workshop space to complete the boat. Speak to our facilities manager, Tony, for more information.
