A number of annual events take place in Cowichan Bay Village. Short descriptions of these events can be found below. If you would like to add an event to this list, please contact the office.
International Low Tide Day: Organized by the Cowichan Estuary Nature Centre, this event calls on volunteers to clean up the shores of our local waters in the morning and wraps up with a ‘critter count’ at Kil-pah-las beach in the afternoon.
Wooden Boat Festival: Hosted by the Cowichan Bay Maritime Centre, this free family friendly festival has been taking place for 29 years. The purpose of the festival is to celebrate our maritime heritage with activities for all ages to enjoy. Don’t miss the Fast & Furious Boat Building Challenge that coincides with the Boat Festival. Better yet, start planning your entry!
Walking Tours: Cittaslow Cowichan Bay offers historical and edible walking tours in Cowichan Bay Village throughout the summer months for the enjoyment of residents and visitors alike.
Cowichan Bay Regatta: Held annual on the August long weekend, this event has been happening for 25 years.
International Cittaslow Day: The last Sunday of every month marks International Cittaslow Day. To celebrate, the Cittaslow Cowichan Bay Society holds a potluck on the Maritime Centre pier. The entire community is invited to come together to share a meal together to mark the occasion.
Christmas Sail Past and Village Light-up: Lighted boats parade in the bay for the enjoyment of onlookers and businesses in the village light up their windows as part of our own celebration to mark the Christmas season.
